Taken apart

Every layer has a job.

Some bring shine, some bring softness, one keeps the rest fresh. Together they coat, smooth and gloss.

Layer 01 of 07 · The gloss

Apricot kernel oil

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil

The heart of necter. A light, silky oil pressed from the apricot stone. It smooths the surface of each strand so it reflects light, and that is where the shine comes from.

Signature molecule
Oleic acid
Notation
C18:1 · ω-9

Layer 02 of 07 · The lightness

Grapeseed oil

Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil

One of the lightest plant oils there is. Its two-kinked fatty acids keep the blend fluid and quick to sink in, so hair feels soft, never heavy.

Signature molecule
Linoleic acid
Notation
C18:2 · ω-6

Layer 03 of 07 · The conditioner

Pumpkin seed oil

Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil

Deep green and rich in fatty acids and plant sterols. It conditions the lengths so they feel stronger and look healthier.

Signature molecule
Plant sterols
Notation
phytosterol rings

Layer 04 of 07 · The cushion

Castor oil

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil

Thick and glossy, thanks to one extra hydroxyl group on its main fatty acid. It coats and cushions each strand to help reduce breakage, so your lengths can keep growing.

Signature molecule
Ricinoleic acid
Notation
C18:1 · 12-OH

Layer 05 of 07 · The balance

Jojoba oil

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil

Technically a liquid wax, not an oil. Its long, straight molecules resemble the oils your scalp makes, which gives the blend a soft, natural finish.

Signature molecule
Wax esters
Notation
C40–C42

Layer 06 of 07 · The satin

Sour cherry kernel oil

Prunus Cerasus (Bitter Cherry) Seed Oil

Pressed from the stone of the sour cherry, the apricot’s cousin in the Prunus family. It adds slip and a satin finish.

Signature molecule
α-Eleostearic acid
Notation
C18:3 · conjugated

Layer 07 of 07 · The guardian

Vitamin E

Tocopherol

An antioxidant that protects the oils themselves, keeping the blend fresh in the bottle from the first drop to the last.

Signature molecule
α-Tocopherol
Notation
C29H50O2

Back together

One golden drop.

Warm it between your palms and the seven layers become one. That is the whole idea.

What a drop does

Shiny, soft, and on its way to long.

  1. 01

    Shine

Smooths the surface of every strand so it catches the light. Glossy from root to tip.

  2. 02

    Softness

Light oils sink in fast, leaving hair soft, supple and healthy-looking, never greasy.

  3. 03

    Length

Coats and cushions your lengths to help reduce breakage, so your hair can keep growing.

The ritual

Three steps. Thirty seconds.

  1. Warm

Two or three drops in your palms. Rub them together until the oil feels warm.

  2. Smooth

Press through your mid-lengths and ends first, then skim lightly over the top for shine.

  3. Wear it, or sleep in it

Use on damp hair before styling, on dry hair to finish, or leave it in overnight and wash it out in the morning.

Fine hair: start with one drop. Thick or curly hair: add more as you need.

Honest by design

A cosmetic, not a cure.

Questions

Good to know.

Will it make my hair greasy?

Not when you use it sparingly. Start with one or two drops, focus on the ends, and add more only if your hair drinks it in.

Is it right for my hair type?

The blend is light enough for fine hair and rich enough for thick, coily or curly hair. The amount is what changes: one drop for fine hair, several for thick.

Does necter make hair grow?

necter conditions and cushions your lengths to help reduce breakage, so the hair you grow is easier to keep. It is a cosmetic, not a hair-loss treatment.

Can it help with dandruff, a flaky scalp or psoriasis?

No. necter is a cosmetic hair oil and is not intended to treat any scalp or medical condition. If you have a scalp concern, please talk to your GP or a dermatologist.

I have allergies. Is it safe for me?

necter contains kernel and seed oils, including apricot and cherry kernel oils. Check the ingredient list, and patch test on a small area 24 hours before first use. If you are unsure, ask your doctor.
